Carole Bain

Position – salon owner/head stylist

Carole has over 15 years experience in the hairdressing industry. She was trained in Edinburgh and there she gained knowledge and inspiration from working in a team of very creative stylists. Throughout her career she has perfected her cutting, colouring and styling techniques with extensive training courses in London, Scotland and Sydney Australia. She worked in Sydney for a number of years before returning to work in Aviemore, and more recently as the head stylist for a salon in Inverness . She believes in keeping up to date through on- going training, and providing a complete salon experience from the consultation, to home hair care advice.

If you want a younger, cutting edge look or something more classic clients can be assured of leaving the salon completely satisfied when booking in with her.

Carole opened The Retreat in Aviemore May 2010 .

Karen Vanzetta

Position – Senior Stylist

Karen started hairdressing at the age of 16, and now has over 20 years experience in the hairdressing industry. She has gained her knowledge and experience working in salons in Inverness (Ralf Crook hairdressing) and also previously in Aviemore for a short time. Karen is very approachable and provides a quality hair cut or colour, she is a stylist you can rely on to make you leave the salon happy and satisfied.

Karen is a good all round hairdresser that you can depend on to give you the look you desire..

Anna Pillans

Position - Senior stylist

Anna is our fabulous new addition to the team. She is an incredibly talented and creative stylist with over 15 years experience in the industry. Anna started her training in The Rainbow Room International in Glasgow and completed her HNC in hairdressing in Coatbridge.
Since qualifying she has excelled in her craft. She has gained knowledge and experience from working abroad in Gibraltar for a period before returning to Scotland to work alongside some very talented stylists and make-up artists. She is passionate about long hair styling and bridal work and has even worked on photo shoots for Invite magazine and ASOS.
Her talents are extensive, from a shorter edgy haircut to a more classic style. Anna will not disappoint you.

Glenda Davis

Position - Senior stylist

Glenda is a highly qualified ladies and gents senior hair stylist. She has a vast experience in all aspects of cutting to a precision standard. She is a hard working conscientious stylist with excellent communication skills.

Glenda has excelled in her Career and has spent many years working in Southampton where she worked as artistic director/manager for Trevor Mitchell International, a top city centre salon. She moved to Scotland and joined our team in May 2012. Her expertise and knowledge of hairdressing has been a valued asset to the salon.

Glenda will provide a professional service with excellent advice for an end result that will be exceptional.

Laura Haggarty

Position – Stylist

Our recently promoted, enthusiastic and talented member of the team.  Laura has completed her hairdressing qualification at Inverness college, she has attended  Wella creative cutting and colouring courses  in Edinburgh, Elgin and Inverness.  She loves to colour hair and has perfected her cutting  techniques through constant  training.  She is a very talented young hairdresser and a valued addition to the team.

Jessica Barlow

Position - Apprentice hairdresser

Jess is our bright and bubbly junior hairdresser. She will be there to greet you on arrival to the salon. She will give you a head massage to die for and also makes a great cup of coffee.

Jess is currently attending college in Inverness on a day release basis whilst working in the salon to complete her HNC level 2 in hairdressing. Her skills are already perfected in blow-drying and styling techniques.

She has recently attended a long hair training Course with Patrick Cameron. Her bridal and hair up work is exceptional and has a natural talent for styling hair.
